Industrial Hygienist

BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as an Industrial Hygienist and 6 years of experience. U.S. citizenship required and the ability to pass/maintain a security clearance.Candidate must have a broad knowledge of occupational safety and health and knowledgeable in the NIOSH document development process and reviews of policy statements.Must have working knowledge of Windows XP on LAN and WAN and Microsoft Windows operating systems. Job Description : EG&G is searching for an experienced Industrial Hygienist to provide scientific and public health support to our NIOSH client's "Prevention through Design" science initiative at the Robert A. Taft National Laboratory in Cincinnati, OH.This position will provide the scientific and public health expertise and effort necessary to support a major science initiative within NIOSH called, "Prevention through Design" or PtD. This effort will achieve the goal of safe and healthy workplaces by incorporating engineering and other design-based prevention concepts into facilities and processes that will eliminate occupational safety and health hazards from manufacturing processes, construction sites, hand tools, service jobs, etc. Responsibilities of the position includes: Working with the PtD program manager to develop a draft strategy for the nation; developing effective relationships with the design and engineering communities in the US and internationally; providing direct presence and participation with NIOSH staff involved in the NORA PtD research program; interacting with NIOSH staff involved in the effort to incorporate OH&H concepts into ANSI Standards; developing, with the PtD program leader, a strategy to meet and interface with each of the NORA Sector Councils. : : EOE M/F/D/V
