About American Overseas Marine :
American Overseas Marine is a global ship operation and management company headquartered in Quincy, Massachusetts.

Job Description:
Assists in providing program management in accordance with the company's contract with Military Sealift Command (MSC).  
 
Key Responsibilities:  
 
Serves as secondary contact with MSC Headquarters for the LMSR program.  
 
Assists in providing direction to program staff and vessel crews.  
 
Assures the timely completion of contract requirements and submission of required deliverables.  
 
Oversees the allocation and commitment of contract funding and contract modifications.  
 
Assists with program planning.  
 
Oversees specification and RFQ development, and monitors awarded contracts, providing direction to Port Engineers as required.  
 
Reviews program invoices and validates program material receipts.  
 
Coordinates development and implementation of shipyard specifications with Port Engineers.  
 
Coordinates development and implementation of fleet-wide alterations (Transalts) with Port Engineers.  
 
Reviews and approves vessel requisitions, assuring budget compliance.  
 
Coordinates operational support for vessels in Full Operating Status (FOS).

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering, or ten (10) years of experience managing programs associated with ship construction/repair or operation.  
 
Sailing experience on deep-sea, ocean-going vessels preferred.  
 
Engineering knowledge of medium-speed diesel engines desirable.  
 
Experience in both commercial and government ship operations desirable.  
 
Must be a US citizen, capable of obtaining SECRET security clearance.  
 
Must possess a valid driver's license and valid passport or be able to obtain them.  
 
Familiarity with MSC Ship IT programs; ShipClip/SM, MSC-IS Portal, desirable.  
 
Strong management skills and ability to perform and supervise staff in a fast-paced, demanding environment required.  
 
Organizational proficiency, attention to detail, and good communication skills.  
 
Capable of boarding a ship at mooring, or at sea from a launch.
