CITY/STATE: Plano, TXPOSITION TYPE: Full Time, EmployeeJOB CATEGORY: EngineeringEDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's DegreeSALARY: 40,000.00 - 55,000.00 USD /yearREFERENCE CODE: FS Lab Engineer DESCRIPTIONThis position requires the ability to test and turn up telecom systems with little or no documentation including reverse engineer system turn-up for multiple platforms and technologies.  Research and Integrate new chassis’s into existing platforms.  Provide status updates daily, weekly or as required to upper management or other departments effectively communicating ideas, problems, possible resolutions. Request parts, components, test equipment etc. to support the test lab as needed.  Maintain test lab such that production delays are minimized or eliminated, generates and maintains test procedures, preventive maintenance and related documents in accordance with ISO.Interfaces with customers as needed.  Mentor and train engineers, technicians and peers.JOB REQUIREMENTS Thorough knowledge of SONET/SDH  standards/ spec’s - Telcordia, IEEE, IETF, ITU and ANSI.  Excellent working knowledge of optical and copper telecommunications.  Knowledge in ADSL, HDSL xDSL systems, knowledge of ATM signaling and testing, a good understanding and experience of STLC.  Optical domain experience in Network element Software (SONET/SDH) related to Provisioning, Alarms, Eqp/Fac Management, Cross Connects, TL1, etc. Hands on experience with a variety of Test Equipment commonly used in the verification (Omniber, ANT-20, Fireberd, Smartbits, TTC-2000, Digital Lightwave etc.). Must have experience in test planning, test requirement analysis, test case development/maintenance/regression, test execution, scripting for automation, verify software functionality related to Network Element areas, analyze defects for trend analysis, estimation and planning.  Rack and stack equipment.  Understanding of DC and AC systems. Be able to converse and work with other departments, technicians, engineering or management.  Excellent communication skills and past customer interaction experience.  Work with customer to ensure testing platform meets their requirements. Team player and stress-resistant, Hands-on working style.  Adherence to ISO processes.  Able to lift 50lbs.
