Lead Cost Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

This role is senior to the Cost Engineer, however the Lead Engineer will be responsible for tracking the current level of commitments, actuals and value of work done and proactively providing project management with accurate, timely and rigorous estimates and reports of Forecasted Final Costs (FFC).

The Lead Cost Engineer is responsible for maintaining the procedures and deliverables associated with cost control and managing the cost control & accounting interface activities with the contractor for the assigned Delivery Team(s).  Depending on size and complexity of the project, there may be a Cost Engineer assigned to each Delivery Teams with all Cost Engineers reporting to a Lead Cost Engineer that leads the overall project cost control activities.  This position would report to PSM.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of Turner & Townsend’s team working within a client’s environment, the individual should be able to demonstrate:Hands on with proven ability for performing cost analysis, management reporting and good systems understanding Strong inter-personal skills and operate as self-starterAbility to direct and be accountable for all Cost Engineering effortsAbility to develop cost control and reporting processes and procedures Ability to interface in SAP set-up and group in determining cost reporting requirements in future contract termsAbility to participate and/or oversee relevant invoice processesProficiency in executing cost control/reporting skills on a major capital development with emphasis on the determination of emerging trends/forecasts in the projects performance and able to execute all relevant duties as a strong team player and good communicator.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience on major $100M + projects preferably in the E&P Segment is desirable and deepwater experience is preferred

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Engineering or Business Degree - preferable

LANGUAGES NEEDED:

English - Fluent
