Chevron Energy Solutions is currently searching for Project Engineers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul and upper Midwest areas. The Project Engineer works as part of a Design-Build & Development Team under the direct supervision of the Engineering Director generating engineering deliverables to support construction of EPC district energy plants, physical plant retrofits, energy conservation projects and renewable energy initiatives This position will also be required to perform performance modeling of utility loads and heat balances, generation of engineering take-offs and capital estimates, financial modeling and generation of plant operational proformas necessary to assess project viability. The project engineer will also provide matrix engineering support and deliverables as necessary to project delivery teams working across mutliple projects. Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:•Generate engineering deliverables necessary to establish basis of design documents sufficient to satisfy proposal requirements, support detailed engineering estimates and utilized for competent bidding documents.•Self perform and/or direct designers in the generation of system configuration drawings, P&ID’s, general arrangements, electrical one-lines, site renderings and outline specifications to completely describe the project. •Manage external engineering resources in further developing engineering through detailed design and construction documentation.•Perform project development activities including CSI direct cost estimate generation, Gantt scheduling, technical proposal preparation and assist in client presentations.•Generate load duration curves, capital construction budgets and plant operational proformas necessary to establish plant unit cost structure, project NPV’s and assess viability.•Must have direct experience with large scale EPC project development and delivery including physical plant construction.•Familiar with renewable energy generation, energy conservation and LEED construction technologies including biomass, cogeneration, combined heat & power (CHP), waste-to-energy (WTE), PV & CSP solar, wastewater, geothermal, VAV conversion and other energy conservation measures..•Working design and operational knowledge of facility systems.•Expertise and background in preconstruction services including SOW generation, vendor qualification, RFP/RFQ bidding and selection, scheduling and permitting.•Strong team building and communication skills. Ability to influence clients on technical issues and make presentations Travel is required for this position and may be up to 33% of the time.Required Qualifications:•Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required•A minimum of 5 years of relevent experience (design build facility construction experience is preferred)•PE is preferred•Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong time management skills. •Proficient computer skills including AutoCad, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project. •Competent experience in the development of EPC and physical plant projects.
