Lead Quality Engineer - Corrective Action Coordinator

We are currently seeking a Corrective Action Coordinator in our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit. Our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit, based out of our corporate headquarters in Monroeville, PA, specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide. It is within this Business Unit that developed the AP1000 design, the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available in the worldwide commercial market place.The Quality Engineer will be expected to perform lead quality assurance functions in the commercial nuclear industry for projects, programs, systems, and product lines of significant scope for AP1000 projects at Westinghouse and customer/supplier sites. Responsibilities include:- Providing technical leadership and project management skills to integrate project teams across multifunctional areas. - Lead the Business Unit Issue Review Committee and monitor performance of The Corrective Action Program. - Streamline processes through recommendation of automated systems to improve productivity and customer satisfaction. - Administer and promote the corrective action program implementation within the Nuclear Power Plants business segment all major locations. - Facilitate corrective action review board and issue review committee meetings. - Monitor and present results of the overall program effectiveness, key performance indicators and trending of the corrective action program on a regular basis. - Provide training in root and apparent cause analysis techniques to business segment personnel. - Work with core corrective action team members to develop and implement procedures and training materials pertaining to the corrective action. - Provide guidance and support to corrective action team members, issue owners and users of the process. - Participate in industry forums on development of corrective action and problem identification and resolution programs for new plant construction. - Maintain awareness of industry practice and changes as it pertains to corrective action programs. - Will also have responsibilities of Safety Program for NPP Windsor site and participate on the safety committee.A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:- Demonstrated capabilities in administration of a nuclear corrective action program with sufficient experience to be considered expert in this role. - Experience and working knowledge of current industry corrective action requirements, programs and procedures beneficial as are experience in the application of Human Performance tools, Six-Sigma, INPO principles and good practices and a broad knowledge of similar industry practices. - Good communication and presentation skills are essential. - Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in a variety of causal analysis techniques is a plus. - Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, plus 6 to 10 years of professional experience. - Knowledge of national consensus standards on quality assurance, such as, Section III of the ASME B&PV Code, ISO 9001, ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and Appendices, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards IEEE Standards and U.S. NRC Regulatory Guide series. - Additional QA qualifications such as ASQ-certified quality engineer or manager, lead auditor per ANSI/ASME NQA-1, and Six Sigma certification are beneficial.
