DEPARTMENT: Engineering – Current Products

QUALIFICATIONS:  B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

Minimum of 5 years related experience.

EIT registration is desired.

Working knowledge of mechanical equipment (i.e. winches, cable, shafting, gearing)

Mechanical design capabilities with components and systems including engines, gear reducers, bearings, shafting and weldments.

Knowledge in statics, dynamics, stress and analysis, machine design.

Competency with AutoCad.

Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Windows, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Layout and design specific areas as assigned per company procedures and Standards.

Provide all required calculations and documentation for any checked and/or approved design.

Verify and check drawings and layouts.

Give direction to designers and drafters.

Provide technical liaison to Sr. Design, Principal, and Chief Engineers for sales, service, and operations in both the office and the field.

Provide engineering functions at lower and/or higher skill levels to accomplish projects.

Ability to communicate effectively technical principles and equipment operation to other departments and to customer.

Develop application information for proposals on all product lines.

Support sales activity with technical information on control capabilities and equipment.

Support parts operation by generating substitutions and/or improved  systems when required with economic limits.

Occasional travel to assist engineering, sales, service, and project management.
