If you are looking for a rare engineering opportunity, please send your resume today!!!  Mechanical Team Leader/Project Engineer Summary:  Performs wide range of technical activities along with project management, including assignments requiring special qualifications and attainments.  Recognized as the emerging engineering authority. Provides technical direction to Staff Engineers and other technical personnel. Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities and critical areas. Significant contributor to strategic planning and decision-making. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to a team of mechanical engineers. Full life-cycle responsibility for projects, including specification, design and verification, with hands-on development work. Project planning, tracking and reporting. Liaising with other team leaders, managers and engineers to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities:  Under limited direction, will develop and apply advanced engineering concepts, theories and research techniques in the solution of complex technical challenges. Origination of concepts and evolution of concepts into functional subsystem and component level detail designs System level integration of mechanical and electrical components/subsystems of UUVs, submerged platforms and other DOD type equipment. Analyze requirements, develop implementation strategies, write analysis and development recommendations for control of electro-mechanical subassemblies. As assigned, will plan, conduct and coordinate technical projects & the efforts of assigned support personnel. Will assist project teams in the research and development of new concepts to address new innovations & new technologies. Create servo system models, perform simulations, and optimize results. Plan, organize, write and edit technical publications & project reports. Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Mechanical or Bio-Medical Engineering, PHD preferred Project management experience 10 to 15+ years of experience in the research & design field Experience in robotics, pressure housings, mechanisms and structures Experience with 3D CAD solid modeling, SolidWorks preferredPreferred Skills A self-motivated individual with 10 – 15 plus years of strong hands-on mechanical engineering experience Application of general engineering principles, theories, and concepts across all disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems and Software) and the ability to lead the development of new principles and concepts. Complete understanding and wide application of systems engineering principles, theories and concepts Efficient application of company, vendor and customer documentation/reporting requirements.
