Chugach Industries, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chugach Alaska Corporation, has a long-term facilities management contract at the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, NJ. We currently have over 200 full time employees and we are responsible for managing Public Works, Logistics, IT, Safety and Health and Environmental Services.

 

Summary/General Description of Job:

Reporting to the Public Works Manager, the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor’s mission is to provide engineering expertise for public works, support of infrastructure and facility project review, program management, drafting, service contract management, preventive maintenance programs, production control, and work analysis and method improvement. Responsible for providing technical leadership to this group, ensuring that all staff members are properly trained and following standard operating procedures. Responsible for all performance appraisals and disciplinary actions, if necessary, for the staff.

 

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

· Prepares and manages work requirements during approval, processing, and completion stages. Recommends method of accomplishment based on existing capabilities.

· Oversees and ensures service call operations are prioritized and processed timely and correctly; information is correctly entered in Maximo work order system; emergency and urgent work requests are dispatched properly to meet priority completion timelines

· Reviews project folder packages and for documentation accuracy

· Manages preparation and maintenance of service order request records and customer satisfaction reports. Responds to customer inquiries. Performs quantitative study of data to compile person-hour cost, work performance, progress, trends, standards, and policies. Manages and ensures a continuous workflow. Manages priorities, work plans, and monitors work status.

· Assists in identification of environmental concerns as related to work requirements. Assists in the development and implementation of facility manager program.

· Directly supervises Facility Inspectors, CADD Specialists, and Production Control Personnel, providing guidance when needed.

· Prepares annual Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.

· Develops and maintains Roof, Pavement, Snow, Road Striping, and Annual Work Plans for accuracy of conditions and potential funding requirements

· Compiles, coordinates, reviews, and processes a large range of contract-required records, reports and submittals, and provides other analytical information by extracting data from the work management system.
Performs various analyses of person-hours and work requests to develop future process improvement. Provides various weekly, monthly, and annual reports as directed.

· Acts as the main point of contact concerning the status of work documents including but not limited to: Service Calls, Work Requests, indefinite quantity work, Preventive Maintenance and routing of requests for Detailed Cost Estimates and revisions to any of the documents.

· Supports, implements (where applicable), and enforces all project and corporate procedures, plans, regulations, and rules.

· Ensures Lake Picatinny Dam Operations are conducted IAW specified guidelines

· Performs duties as shift leader during Snow & Ice removal operations

· Oversees facility inspections for proper implementation of identified requirements. Compiles information and plans for implementation

· Ensures CADD department maintains and provides current drawings as required by DPW and the Planning section.



 

Job Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience):

Mandatory:

· US Citizenship

· Knowledge of Government work/maintenance control operations including but not limited to Civil and CADD Engineering, workload scheduling, and computerized maintenance management systems.

· Proficiency with MS Office programs and strong data base (Maximo or equivalent) knowledge.

· Three years supervisory experience.

· Engineering or engineering technology degree or equivalent.

· Ability to deal professionally and courteously with a variety of people in diversified situations.
