Manager II: Construction

CDM’s Construction Services Group is looking for a dynamic person to be a Construction Manager out of our Regional office. This position will be responsible for managing CDM’s construction projects and growth of CDM’s construction group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to challenge their construction management and engineering skills on: water and wastewater treatment plant construction, water/sewer distribution system contracts, and other environmental construction projects. The candidate will work with CDM managers and technical staff while developing unique skills on high profile construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM's mission by:

• Supervising, directing and evaluating the activities of construction representatives to ensure the quality completion of an assignment on time and within budget limits.
• Coordinating and controlling all construction management activities, including scheduling, and claims administration.
• Providing internal consultation to construction representatives in project offices.
• Acting as a technical resource to other function groups within the division.
• Developing new opportunities for business through proposal preparation and general contact with current and potential clients.
• Assisting in the administration and operation of the construction services group, as required
• Reviewing government regulations in order to provide consultation services that reflect up-to-date knowledge and understanding of legal requirements.
• Providing expert witness service in claims administration cases.
• Actively participating as a member of the technical review committee. Supervising and coordinating all shop drawing activities

The objective of this job is to plan, direct, and coordinate construction projects, ranging from routine and moderately complex projects to large, multiple-contract projects.

Job requires site visits (up to 10%-20% of time allocation) in which you may face environmental factors such as continuous climbing, exposure to loud noise, seasonal weather, and driving.

REQUIREMENTS

A successful CDM candidate will have:

• 15+ years of progressively more responsible construction services experience in environmental engineering facility construction.
• B.S. in engineering; post-graduate; preferred. P.E. desired.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry practices.
