Manager of Education

ASME, a world-renowned leader in the mechanical engineering field will be looking to fill the position of Manager Education which will support the Society’s Center for Education and other activities. ASME, a not-for-profit educational and techni­cal organization headquartered in NYC, has 120,000 members worldwide, 5 loca­tions in the U.S. and 3 overseas, over 300 employees, and $70 million in revenue.

 

This person will be responsible for managing various accreditation processes, department head and faculty/student advisor development, external grants, and research activities of the Center and the annual ASME International Mechanical Engineering Education Conference.

 

The Manager serves as staff support to the Board and Committees for the Center and engages in domestic and international projects that help colleges of engineering develop the curricula and faculty that will enable engineering students to be better prepared to transition to research and graduate education and to professional life in engineering practice.

 

Requirements:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, Masters Degree preferred and a minimum of five years experience in a related area of education or association management. Strong strategic, organizational, project management skills and experience are crucial in addition to excellent editorial and presentation skills, and the ability to interact professionally with leaders in engineering education, industry and government.

The position requires the ability to conduct effective financial planning and oversight and skill at turning volunteer ideas and efforts into workable, executable, and sustainable programs that add value to the ASME brand. Travel (some international) is required.
