 Description

Manage engineers and provide engineering expertise in managing traffic engineering studies, traffic signal and ITS design, and transportation planning efforts.  Must have the ability to develop and maintain client relationships, project control, quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC) and marketing.  The successful candidate will direct a team of professional engineers and engineers-in-training for public and private sector clients.  This individual will be expected to work on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts.

Must have proven ability to win and complete work as a project manager and work in dynamic environment with the ability to multi-task.  Some travel is required.Qualifications

 

§ BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering.

§ Minimum of 10 years experience preferred.

§ Must be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas or have the ability to obtain Texas registration within six months of hiring date. 

§ Strong oral and written communications skills are essential. 

§ Must have experience with the following software packages:  HCS (Highway Capacity Software), PASSER, Synchro, CORSIM, VISSIM, and Microstation. 

§ Familiarity with the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TxMUTCD), TxDOT Design Manuals and the AASHTO Green Book is also required. 

§ Must have the ability to train and mentor staff. 

§ Experience with TxDOT and local County, City and MPO clients is desirable.
