Manufacturing Engineer/Test Engineer

As the Manufacturing/Test Engineer at GridPoint, Inc. you will be responsible for the following:

Internal:Working with staff in the Engineering department to develop new, or support existing test plans. Conducting DFT reviews, and assists with other DFX design reviews as appropriate. Evaluating the effectiveness of existing test programs. Performing periodic maintenance and repair on GridPoint’s test fixtures as needed. Coordinating with suppliers, internal departments, and consultants on test equipment and software procurement and design. Issuing Corrective Actions Requests, internally or to suppliers, as appropriate.

In the Supply Chain:Working with key suppliers to ensure they meet their stated and agreed upon performance objectives. Implement a relevant reporting system. Assisting the project team with the qualification of newly released parts, and in developing Critical To Quality (CTQ) parameters. Supporting the contract manufacturers in the resolution of quality issues, documentation needs, or in test procedure validation.

Position RequirementsBachelors Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience Possess a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment production and current test methodologies. Hardware test development experience. Familiarity with ICT (in circuit testing) documentation and procedures. Experience with FMEA and statistical tools. Assists in determining process qualification parameters and objective capabilities for all critical processes. Interact with all organizational levels, both internally and with GridPoint’s suppliers, in a professional manner. Sustaining engineering experience - ECO implementation, maintaining line efficiencies and yields desired. Basic knowledge of a CAD software package such as Solidworks or AutoCad helpful. Knowledge of MS Access, Excel, C#, and Visual Basic desired. Experience in working with Tier 1 Contract Manufacturers and NPI programs a plus.
