Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Must have experience managed projects involving utility sytems including: domestic water supply and distribution, sanitary sewer, compressed air, cooling water systems with cooling towers, water treatment, HVAC, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen systems. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, ICC, OSHA, etc).
Must have demonstrated skills in Lean Manufacturing/ Six Sigma approaches to process improvement including: statistical analysis and interpretation, process mapping and simulation, facilitating team brainstorming, and performing process capability-characterization-optimization studies.
Strong communications skills and the ability to train and mentor others in these tools and techniques are essential.
Should have experience with basic mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Should have very strong communications skills and have the ability to drive improvements.
Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for and have involvement with the following:
-Will manage projects involving utility sytems including: domestic water supply and distribution, sanitary sewer, compressed air, cooling water systems with cooling towers, water treatment, HVAC, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen systems. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, ICC, OSHA, etc).
-Support plant safety: Dedication and commitment towards plant safety. Perform routine safety observations and drive safety improvements. Help maintain compliance with all Loss Control requirements
-Continuous Improvements: Assist in plant continuous improvement activities and drive improvements using Lean Manufacturing tools.
-Operational Support: Internal customer support and trouble shooting for a highly automated manufacturing process.
-Maintenance Support: Support Maintenance activities with internal staff and contractors.
-Project Work: Determination of design requirements, preparation of specifications and drawings, procurement of necessary materials and services, and coordination of installation. Creation of cost estimates, payback, justification, time lines, etc. for projects.
