Material Research Task Leader

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Tasking includes reviewing material requests from foreign military customers for repair and upkeep of ex US NAVY ships; making recommendations on sources for procuring material; obtaining pricing and availability quotations from vendors and tracking procurement of material until received in country.

Utilizing the VSE Purchasing Manual, ISO 9001-2000 requirements and procurement regulations, obtains and analyzes quotations received and selects or recommends a preferred supplier.

Procures technical materials, supplies, services and equipment in a government contractor setting.

Reviews purchasing requests  to determine that proper specifications and purchase descriptions are included in documents.

Evaluates offers received for compliance with needs and performs price/cost analysis, quality of items or service and delivery schedules.

Monitors delivery schedules and expedites as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

US Navy Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics background.

Paygrade E-6 and above, with minimum 6 years shipboard experience.

Shipboard and/or aviation maintenance experience a plus.

Division Repair Parts Petty Officer (RPPO) experience a plus.

Small purchase experiences a plus.

Computer knowledge: proficient in EXCEL spread sheets/MS Word

Background in dealing with military supply system a plus.

Requires ability to review Navy Drawings and Technical Manuals to determine repair parts required for maintenance.

Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
