Due to business growth, Bureau Veritas has an excellent opportunity for a FT Mechanical Engineer interested in Plan Review...Review complex commercial, industrial and residential drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with current codes and standardsCoordinate with plan review team, and take the lead in resolving inquiries received from clients, public, designers, contractorsReview substantially complex technical reports, calculations, and studiesMay be asked to provide primary point of contact with clients, translating their needs into the appropriate client maintenance and retention activitiesMay assist in client acquisition and promotional activities including the preparation of proposals and statements of qualifications, oral interviews and marketing promotionsMay make occasional field inspections to ensure that construction is in conformance with applicable codes and regulationsExplain and answer client questions regarding generated plan review lettersRequired Skills

Knowledge of the engineering side of the plan check process, building construction, and building codes and regulations (including state and federal) is essentialAn unwavering Customer Service attitude Required Experience

Must be a California licensed Engineer, or willing to obtain State of CA registrationICC Certified Plans ExaminerAt least 5 years experience performing commercial, industrial and residential plan reviewsExperience working in building department environment preferredWe offer an attractive salary/benefit package and an opportunity to play a vital role with a dynamic organization.
