Mechanical Engineer, Associate Simi Valley, CAJOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:· Conducts general engineering and design of structures & mechanical systems and ground support equipment.· Documents designs and tests with engineering drawings, written descriptions, and reports.· Design fixtures, molds, and tooling from component/subsystem specifications.· Develop SolidWorks drawings for components, use industry standards to generate drawings, and maintain detailed drawing trees.· Conduct engineering analysis and material selection required to size/design/layout components.· Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and vendors/suppliers in the design of tooling and components.· Use established engineering drawing configuration control systems.· Support design reviews, development of manufacturing procedures for designed tooling and components and fabrication of tooling and components.· Performs structural analysis of designs.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:· Requires Mech. Engineering B.S. degree minimum, advanced degree a plus or any combination of school and professional experience.· 0-3 years experience in design and engineering of projects, primarily focused on structures, analysis, and manufacturing techniques. UAV or aerospace experience desired.· Should have General Engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties, and experience.· Electronics knowledge a plus.· Design/drafting/CAD experience required.· Analysis of complex and composite structures and mechanical design a plus.· Excellent verbal and written skills. Team Player.· Familiar with software tools in area of expertise; SolidWorks desirable.· Familiar with office software and computer based productivity tools; Will work on government contracts.Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
