Mechanical Engineer - Facilities/Projects
We are assisting our client with their search for a Mechanical Engineer. This individual will be responsible for providing the mechanical engineering expertise to establish proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, reliability, and spare parts for all plant production equipment as well as plant infrastructure and facilities. This position also provides direction for continual improvement projects, ideas, and programs for the advancement of the overall performance of the production facility. In addition, this individual will provide project management for all product programs.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Utilize proficiency in all areas of the mechanical and electro-mechanical field, including but not limited to: hydraulic systems, HVAC applications, fluid (air, stream, water, etc) dynamics, heat transfer, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills, plant facilities engineering, equipment layouts and details, equipment design, FEA, problem solving, CAD, and computer software
- Provide direct technical support to the Engineering and Maintenance Department to advance the performance of the production facility
- Utilize downtime and quality data and a solid analytical approach to develop and implement continual improvement
- Serve as the technical resource for the plant operations
- Develop and maintain plant and equipment spare parts, drawings, schematics, programs, etc.
- Manage projects with skill, meeting deadlines, milestones, budgets and goals.
- Support plant-wide effort to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Remain accountable to the Equipment/Maintenance Engineering Manager for all phases of activities
- Advise, consult and coordinate with all the other engineering and maintenance staff
Management Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for working daily with the Engineering and Maintenance Manager to advance the performance of the production facility
- Provide support and guidance for the continual development of the engineering/maintenance team framework
- Ensure that training and development needs are identified and programs initiated
- Ensure that the company’s principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years experience in a large manufacturing facility
- Proficiency in all areas of the mechanical and electro-mechanical field, including, but not limited to: hydraulic systems, HVAC applications, fluid (air, steam, water) dynamics, heat transfer, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills, plant facilities engineering, equipment layouts and details, equipment design, FEA, problem solving, CAD, and computer software
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
- Multi-tasking ability, including the ability to plan, organize and control activities.
