MECHANICAL ENGINEER (HVAC)

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bistate public agency operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the New York/New Jersey region. We are currently seeking to fill a position of Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) in the Engineering Department’s Engineering/Architecture Design Division. 

In this position, you will be responsible for the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and central heating and refrigeration plants (CHRPS) for buildings and structures at various Port Authority facilities.  You will also develop project scopes and design criteria, as well as budget for design services and design schedules, provide technical advice and assistance to facility and other Port Authority personnel, and prepare the technical scope of work and audit the mechanical engineering designs performed by consultants.

Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum of ten years diversified experience in the design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial/industrial buildings, central heating and refrigeration plants, air handling and thermal distribution systems
· Working knowledge of New York State, New York City and New Jersey building codes
· Direct experience in the preparation of contract drawings and specifications
· Working knowledge of AutoCad
· P. E. License is desired
