Mechanical Engineer: Manufacturing Equipment Designer

With minimum supervision, will plan and design tools, automatic assembly machines and other mechanically functioning equipment.

Also will design mechanical industrial processes and oversee production, installation, operation, maintenance and reports of such equipment.

This position will require thorough knowledge of cam design and mechanical mechanisms for high speed equipment. Working closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of robotics and transfer mechanisms to increase production, quality or efficiency.

This position will investigate problems and recommend solutions. Must be able to coordinate machine controls between mechanical and electrical design.

Proficient user of CAD, preferably Unigraphs NX2 solid modeling.

Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently.

BS Eng with 5 years of professional experience designing manufacturing equipment.

Knowledge of statistical methods (Six Sigma/Minitab) and Lean Manufacturing Principals is a plus.
