Their employees are given the chance to design and build the career they have been searching for. Mechanical Engineer- Southbridge, MA- 00214   PurposeTo develop new products, procedures and methods for customer applications, transfer to manufacturing, and provide on-going manufacturing support. Job Responsibilities Engineering Design Conceptualize products from schematics, sketches or verbal instructions to develop and design products and improve existing products and assembly procedures.  Interface directly with customers and through the Sales department regarding product development, customer requirements and manufacturing techniques.  Interface with Logistics to locate purchasing sources.  Review and recommend new equipment and machinery from commercial sources.  Handle all regulatory agency matters such as attaining and maintaining certificates to ensure compliance.  Monitor market for new product needs and stay abreast of development and current trends in industry through publications and make suggestions or recommendations. Manufacturing Support Transfer new product information to the manufacturing department and train manufacturing and quality personnel in new techniques.  Establish assembly and test procedures for all products using various equipment and test fixtures.  Ensure test procedures meet industry standards.  Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales.  Engineering Documentation Create project documentation that is complete, accurate and can be easily interpreted by any user.  Design and update specifications for prints for engineering designs.  Develop and maintain routers, material lists and tooling requirements.  Prepare and maintain engineering documentation to current revision.  Provide documentation to sales for approval of customers, to marketing for new product introduction, to logistics for planning and purchasing, and to manufacturing for production. Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Ensure adherence to EHS laws and company policies.  Take action against observed violations.  Participate in EHS audits.  If necessary, work with others to develop concepts to enhance EHS results and ensure implementation. External Contacts Interface with customers to determine and verify product specifications and vendors to determine and verify component specifications.  Identify and work with outside vendors and contractors to support engineering designs. Key User for MRP System Maintain process descriptions for MRP module.  Train new hires on module.  Ensure that module runs consistently. Planning Participate in budget planning. Other Responsibilities Back up other Engineering personnel.     Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent. More than 2 years previous engineering or manufacturing engineering experience required.
