Mechanical Papermaking Engineer

Foth Production Solutions LLC, a nationally recognized, employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Papermaking Engineer for our Mehoopany, PA location. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

¨  Proposals, concepts/designs, equipment specifications for project work in the pulp/paper industry

¨  Installation and startup support

¨  Projects will include mill maintenance projects and new capital projects

 ¨ Travel to client sites and/or other Foth office locations (up to 25%)

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

¨  BSME, BSCHE or related

¨  10+ years related mechanical/process engineering experience

¨  Ability to do P&IDs

¨  Ability to specify equipment

¨  Ability to prepare installation bid documents

¨  Piping design skills

¨  Experience in a manufacturing/plant environment- comfortable providing construction support, commissioning and startup

¨  Familiarity with steam, condensate, vacuums, compressed air, hydraulics, pneumatics, winding and lube oil systems

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

¨  Knowledge of pulping

¨  Knowledge of screening and cleaning of thick stock, refining and deflaking

¨  HVAC and dust collection

¨  Familiarity with OEM’s equipment- Voith, Metso, Mitsubishi

¨  Pipe stress/flexibility analysis

¨  Previous experience as a project manager

¨  Understanding on approach flow, headbox and wet end operations

¨  Pressing and drying (especially with Yankee Dryers and gas fired hoods)

¨  PE in Pennsylvania
