Position Description:COMPANY INFORMATION :Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Headquartered in San Ramon, California, and conducting business in approximately 180 countries, the company is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including exploration and production; refining, marketing and transportation; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation.OVERVIEW OF POSITION :Position will be a member of EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) / Global Reservoir Management Advisor Team. Primarily a service team that will support basic and advanced EOR screening, monitoring/optimization. Related technology development projects in support of miscible gas EOR screening activities. Work directly with asset teams and be responsive to immediate technical service needs. Develop common good tools and share best practices. Qualifications:RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:• Provides technical support to Chevron operating companies worldwide in screening, designing and optimization of miscible EOR projects.• Participates as technical resource on project peer reviews / assists for enhanced oil recovery / CO2 miscible projects. Significant CO2 miscible recovery experience for EOR is required.• Develops, evaluates and deploys new technology and tools, provide consultation and/or recommend procedures.• Draw on reservoir engineering expertise to provide on-site support for EOR projects. • Work cooperatively with asset teams to provide coaching, improved work processes, RM standards, and tools for water flood optimization.• Builds technical capabilities by representing Chevron at industry technical meetings, joint industry project meetings, and review of current technical literature.• Teaches in selected schools, seminars and courses concerning EOR topics.• Provides mentoring in-house to trainees from affiliate companies.• Supports company of choice strategy by demonstrating Chevron's technological capability to visitors and representing Chevron at industry technical meetings related to EOR topics.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineer (Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering preferred).• A minimum of 3+ years of directly related experience.• In-depth knowledge and broad experience in miscible gas EOR management / development. Strong miscible gas skills required. This person needs to be able to sit down with a project team, review existing data, and help them identify EOR opportunities using screening tools. • Recognized across the industry as an expert or experienced person in a miscible gas competency area, such as surveillance, laboratory, or simulation. Acts as a focal point of miscible gas related work. Should have sufficient understanding to link back to the technical community and develop work plans in simulation, laboratory work, surveillance, and decision analysis.• Demonstrated competency in designing miscible gas pilots and evaluating miscible gas pilots and projects. Candidate must have a track record with EOR field applications. Candidate must have strong sub-surface skills.• Willingness to travel to international sites to initiate, conduct, and/or share simulation project results.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:• Master’s degree in Engineer (Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering preferred).• Customer focus – demonstrated effectiveness in determining customer needs, educating customer on solutions, and monitoring progress of initiatives/activities.• Communication-Ability to effectively communicate technical and project development issues to diverse audience. • Foreign language skills are a plus.• Ability to be a self-starter who need little functional guidance and is very good at networking.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:US-TX-Houston Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
