R&D Engineer, Senior
SUMMARY:
Ensures product meets yields, performance specification, testing and quality requirements. Reviews complex designs and engineering changes for feasibility of production and assembly before releases. Develops and implements techniques to improve products. Monitors performance of production in production. Provides necessary technical support in interpretation of drawings, specifications and other engineering information to maintain production flow. Provides training information and work direction to lower level personnel. Works on complex problems where analysis of data or situation requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Works under minimal supervision on assigned projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assists with the development of complex product design and functionality.
· Implements the product design within the schedule and budget parameters
· Identifies any problems with the implementation that may affect the schedule or budget and communicates such problems accordingly.
· Meets established deadlines and objectives.
· Analyzes the risks of a new complex design or process and communicates results.
· Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
· Develops and implements techniques to improve products.
· Develops, maintains and documents procedures and processes.
· Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
· Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
· Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Electrical Engineer IV (Senior)
SUMMARY: Researches, designs and analyzes electrical circuits . Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Has overall project responsibility including planning and assisting with lower level engineers and technicians. Is responsible for assisting with product release activities (e.g. developing BOMs, work instructions, test fixtures). Assists with improving engineering documentation control systems and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Creates original electrical and/or software designs for new products.
· Manages tasks and schedules for multiple projects to meet individual program objectives
· Troubleshoots the most difficult manufacturing problems causing work stoppage and recommends and implements corrective actions.
· Provides training and leadership to production technicians.
· Reviews manufacturing activities and leads the implementation of process improvements on a regular basis.
· Identifies and implements improved methods for documentation handling and dissemination.
· Reviews, revises, creates or augments new product documentation, procedures, and test apparatus prior to release in manufacturing.
· Designs new product test apparatus and trains manufacturing on its use.
· Makes design improvements to existing products following changes from start to finish.
· Completes detailed engineering test reports.
· Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
· Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reviews nonconforming material reports and recommends disposition (i.e. return to vendor, rework out of house, rework in-house, use as is, etc.). for atypical situations.
· Reviews purchasing requests for assistance in identifying alternate suppliers, crossing obsolete components and establishing qualified vendors of material.
· Corrects errors in manufacturing documentation and issues new documentation though the engineering change process.

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years related experience which must include 5 years electrical circuit design for commercial products; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Proficient with EE Design CAD Programs such as: PCB layout and electronic software
· Experience with PCAP and PROTEL, preferred
· Demonstrate thorough knowledge of EE circuit design theory, C++, C and Basic language
· Ability to use engineering tools such as MathCad, Gerber editors, etc.
· Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy to detail

Engineering Technician III
SUMMARY:
Performs work on complex assignments in support of engineering. With guidance from engineering staff, performs tests, analysis prototype and engineering units. Conducts experiments, records and analyzes data. Performs complex analysis and non-standard tests where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and marking recommendations. Uses a wide variety of specialized test equipment and computer programs. Train and provide leadership to co-workers. Writes technical reports with recommendations for design changes. May build simple test equipment. May assemble prototype units.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Reviews project instructions such as assembly layout, blueprints, and sketches, and confers with engineering personnel to clarify specifications.
· Conducts complex experiments, tests, records and analyzes data on prototype and engineering units.
· Assembles prototype units.
· Enters work performed into appropriate database.
· Assists in the preparation of product drawings and process instructions.
· Assists in the transfer of new and/improved products into manufacturing.
· Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
· Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.
· Occasional customer contact.
· Occasionally will give close supervision.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops and implements technical training.
· Sets up precision electronic and optical instruments to test laser device.
· Prepares and writes technical reports to recommend solutions to technical problems.
· Confers in technical meetings, recommending design and material changes to reduce cost and lead time.
· Coordinates work of technicians and others assigned to assist.
