Operations Engineering Support Specialist

Reporting to the Operations Manager this individual will:

Answer complex RFP issues regarding trunked and conventional Land Mobile Radio systems, computer networks, telephony, power, HVAC, and other supporting elements. Design the integration of vendor hardware  into the solution.

Team lead the development and product integration of supplementary equipment.

 Assist in developing SOW's for direct customers and partners, and for Catalyst direct proposals.

Create and maintain customer documentation including user manuals, administrator manuals, on-line help, training materials, and other tools.

Develop and implement processes, documentation, and other tools for efficiently producing Customer Proposals, Staging and Installing orders and demo systems.

Provide enigineering and marketing support including moderate travel to customer sites.

Support Engineering in the development of new Catalyst products/features.

Carry technical support pager and provide 24/7 support on rotational basis.Sales and installation activities will primarily be for US public safety (state and local), federal, and utility markets.  Some international travel may be required.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·  Strong desire to work in and grow an entrepreneurial business.

·  Demonstrated experience performing the tasks listed above.

·  Experience with public safety, utility, and federal markets

·Three to five years experience supporting customer installations and long-term customer support of technology solutions.  Prefer experience managing customer projects in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and Enterprise Networks.

·  Competent and the creation and maintenance of schedules using the Microsoft Projects application

·  Broad technical experience including

o Land mobile radio systems integration and testing

o Wide Area Network technology including the components of large, statewide networks.  Network administration experience beneficial.

o Microsoft software operating systems, products, and networking

o Two-way radio and other wireless communications systems standards, protocols, and techniques

o VoIP standards, protocols, and techniques

o Cable and simple PCB manufacturing

o Candidate should have a strong background in either customer management, LMR systems engineering, or computer networking technologies.  The other areas are highly desirable.

·  Engineering degree and/or business degree or related experience.

·  Strong leadership and team skills.  Outstanding oral and written communications skills.
