Outside Sales Representative
Bearings & Drives, a division of B&D Industrial, an independently-owned provider of industrial products and services to mining, manufacturing, engineering and OEM companies is seeking qualified candidates in outside sales for the Newnan Georgia area.
JOB TITLE: Outside Sales Representative
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
SUMMARY
Perform functions to promote sale of products to new and repeat customers within an assigned territory.
TYPICAL DUTIES
· Review and update sales territory plan and set goals and objectives accordingly.
· Prepare and conduct sales presentations of products to new and existing customers.
· Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products.
· Negotiate and establish price and terms in accordance with standard procedures.
· Prepare and communicate quote to customer.
· Conduct needs analysis by product specs or plan survey and recommend products and services that would add value, enhance uptime and/or increase productivity.
· Work with inside sales, vendors and management to establish strategies for customer communication.
· Respond to customer inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals.
· Prepare and submit sales call and expense reports as required.
· Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical or product assistance as appropriate.
· Conduct equipment, product and energy efficiency surveys.
· Demonstrate and instruct customers on product installation, use and maintenance as required.
· Document benefits and/or cost savings to customers.
· Communicate customer concerns to inside sales staff, management or vendors.
· Monitor customer’s on-site inventory and recommend changes as needed.
· Review and advise management, vendors and customers on distributor’s own inventory levels.
· Monitor customer’s open order status and expedite as needed.
· Monitor customer’s current credit status.
· Determine sales potential for new and existing customers through inquiry, observation or periodical research.
· Follow up on potential sales leads.
· Analyze customer’s strengths and weaknesses to assist in determining sales potential.
· Represent company at trade shows to gain market information and promote sales process.
· Monitor market trends and notify management of opportunities for new products and services.
· Provide customers with appropriate safety, environmental and quality documentation as requested.
o Review and understand company business and ethical policies.
o Understand terms and conditions of sales and the extent of liability and responsibility. o Communicate and interact professionally with other team members.
o Communicate company’s commitment to continuous improvement process.
o Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Basic Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with both hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. You may also be required to sit and climb or balance. You must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, rarely lift and/or move up to fifty pounds. Must have the ability to work independently, be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must have good telephone, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
More Specific Requirements
Minimum 2 years prior field sales experience
BA/BS preferred Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, writing, communication and organizational skills Ability to travel 60% Expereince with Word, Excel and Outlook Electrical and Fluid Power experience
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Successful candidates must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and have an acceptable 3 year Motor Vehicle Report as may be required by current company policy.
