PROJECT DESIGNER - ELECTRICAL DESIGNER

AllCom Global Services is a specialty electrical engineering and technology firm, seeking a project designer in our Lake St Louis office. The major focus for this position is within Federal Government facilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Nurtures existing client relationships and identifies opportunities for new business. Creates and edits technical specifications for electrical products. Reviews drawings and researches code issues to comply with project requirements. Communicates with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs. Researches, prepares, and presents coordinated design options.  Ensures that deliverables meet required codes and quality assurance standards.



 Qualities we seek in a Project Designer:Demonstrated ability to project a client-centric, can-do approach to project work. Ability to prepare and review detailed drawings. Ability to research and present design options.  Working knowledge of AutoCAD requiredKnowledge of power systems, voltage drop and fault current calculations, harmonics associated with power electronics or telecommunications systems, and general electrical design for the built environment.  Understanding and commitment to sustainable design practices, workplaces, and to a sustainable workforce. Familiarity with code and compliance issues relative to the industry.  Strong research skills. Well-developed client communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to travel regionally and nationally on occasion. 

Experience, Education and Certification:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus two years experience in electrical design; performing calculations of power distribution systems, lighting, security/fire alarm, and voice/data system; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience working on project teams.

PE preferred.
