Packaging Engineer / Package Development Engineer

TITLE:  PACKAGING ENGINEER/PACKAGE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

 

POSITION LOCATION:

 

Package Development Department for Consumer Products;

Butler County, PA

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field, preferably from an accredited college or university, and 2 years experience in packaging engineering, packaging design, and/or packaging testing.  Heavy emphasis will be placed on one’s leadership ability, to manage complex projects and deliver innovative packaging solutions within the appropriate timelines. Project Management experience and strong communication, leadership, and technical writing skills are also required.  Positions may require some travel, in order to interact with suppliers, plants, and other R&D facilities.

 

POSITION:

 

We are seeking several package development engineers to join our Northeast, US-Regional Packaging Department, which supports the package development and engineering functions of several major food, pharmaceutical, and consumer products companies in NY, NJ, CT, PA and the surrounding areas.

 

We have several open positions in the packaging department of one of the world’s largest world's leading manufacturer of safety products designed to protect people throughout in the US and abroad. 

 

This position reports to the Engineering Project Manager, Industrial and Graphic Design and will be responsible for defining, designing, sourcing, testing, and providing cost estimates of Packaging arrangements for consumer and industrial markets. Types of packaging include, but are not limited to, primary packaging, shippers, pallet pattern arrangements, cushioning systems, and point of purchase displays.


Major responsibilities include:

· Providing design, engineering, testing, and specification of consumer products packaging.

· Providing design, engineering, testing, and specification of industrial products packaging.

· Interpreting code and design for government packaging.

· Coordinating Hazardous Materials packaging.

· Attending team meetings and reporting information.
