Context

Supervise a team of technicians, maintain operational integrity for Payload Management of the SES Satellite Fleet.  Support all space segment customer service, satellite payload management, satellite access processes and implement Interference resolution procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Efficient Shift Operations according to Job description

 

• Monitor real-time PMC operations and, as seen fit, intervening with advice and coaching for the PMC technicians over the SES Satellite fleet

 

• Act as the primary focal point for outside entities on all PMC operational activities.

 

• Support all accesses to designate transponders, using established procedures, and proactively monitor space segment utilization, carrier specifications, and interference environment.

 

• Interface with other entities to ensure PMC escalation procedures are followed.

 

•Assist technicians in solving interference issues.

 

• Maintain current, accurate payload management documentation, activity logs, trouble ticket systems and ensure correct reporting at all times.

 

•  Remain current with all PMC Trouble Tickets and ensure they are regularly updated.

 

• Ensure Monthly Transponder Audit Program is checked, verified and any anomalies acted upon.


•  Use diagnostic tools to systematically analyze, interpret, troubleshoot, and restore space segment services.

•  Ensure Operational awareness of Supervisor activities is high within PMC.

 

•Ensure PMC Shift Schedule is adequately covered at all times.

 

• Act as first level of escalation support for any off-hours emergency service and operational issues.

 

 

 

 

 





Experience / Qualifications

•   US Citizen or Green Card holder.

 

•  The Payload Management Centre operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, while this position is not a shift position it may occasionally require extended and/or unsociable hours including nights, holidays and weekends as required as well as on-call support;

 

•   Be able to multitask in a fast-paced, highly transactional environment.

 

•   Be able to lift at least 50 pounds and climb ladders.

 

•  Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to respond quickly and graciously in a technical environment and to communicate effectively

 

•   Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse organization.

•Assume the delegated responsibilities of the Senior Manager as required;
