Photonics Packaging Engineer

Position:  Photonics Packaging Engineer Location:  WA Experience:  7+ years Education:  BA Science, Optics, Physics or equivalentJob Description: Engineer will research laser packaging materials and develop packaging processes for research, technology and product development projects.  This engineer will design and conduct experiments to validate processes, work with manufacturing to document the processes and make the transfer to production.Qualifications and Responsibilities: * participate in the development of laser products from concept to production release * provide inputs to design team * experience working with manufacturing engineers in defining and developing production processes * lead the prototyping effort of the laser package * interface with functional teams to integrate novel packaging solutions into all phases of development * engineering experience with design and development of laser packaging processes * experience engineering products for telecom, aerospace or military applications * laser soldering or laser welding optical assemblies a plus * photonics packaging experience * mechanical design software experience * opto-mechanical experience a plus * FMEA experience desiredplease contact bmurray@mri-rtp.com MRINetwork is the largest and most successful search organization in the world.
