The primary focus is on accurate integrated scheduling and planning of all work activities to minimize duration and overall costs to FirstEnergy during the execution of outages. This person will also assist in the planning and execution process by working with Outage Team area managers to develop work scopes and budgets, track and manage work and finalize close-out information and reports. Planning The person in this position is expected to review outage related work requests for inclusion in forced, maintenance or scheduled outage work scopes, initiate new work orders and job plans for scope not previously identified, and manage work scopes in prescribed formats to ensure optimal outage readiness at all times. This person is expected to assist in developing and tracking the budget for all outages using the work management system (SAP), and utilize the proper tools to forecast and manage the budget as needed. This person is expected to maintain a solid knowledge of the power plant and operational issues specific to each unit to assist in scope planning and prioritization. This person shall demonstrate a constructive questioning attitude to work with area managers and the plant to ensure the right work is captured within the constraints identified by safety, environmental conditions, time, budget or other outside factors. Lastly, this person is jointly responsible for ensuring outage planning milestones are carried out effectively and by established due dates per the Outage Management Process manual. Scheduling This person will be responsible for joint development, maintenance and updating of a sound, logically-tied, critical path schedule currently utilizing the Primavera P3 platform. The person will work with management, the outage team, maintenance, operations, engineering, the crafts and contractors to develop an optimized critical path schedule for all work to be executed during outages or significant de-rates or work activities. The person in this position will actively seek out and work with those resources to maintain an accurate real-time update of the schedule, provide timely communication on scheduled activities and answer real-time question on logic ties, float, contingency plans, etc. Execution The person in this position will assist in executing outage plans through occasional contractor oversight, working with area managers and contractors on schedule and budget updates as well as daily and weekly reporting. This person will also facilitate and develop material for meetings during all outages and lead meetings as necessary. Qualifications

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering

Demonstrated use of Primavera (or similar) critical path scheduling software with fluency in P3 a plus.

Knowledge of power plant, or similar industry, processes and concepts.

Knowledge of budgeting and budget forecast process.

Knowledge of work planning process with respect to power plant operation and equipment. Knowledge of maintenance procedures and practices for all types of rotating mechanical equipment, low and medium-voltage electrical switchgear, and/or instrumentation is a plus.

Must possess a working knowledge of various MicroSoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) as well as critical path scheduling software (Primavera P3 preferred) and work management software (SAP preferred).
