HS diploma or GED and training beyond HS in the area of HVACR maintenance, plumbing, pipefitting and installation with four years of job related experience. Position also requires a broad knowledge of other facility maintenance disciplines.U.S. Citizenship requiredCandidate must have knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, soldering, braising, and structural layout as well as the ability to use hand tools and follow blueprints and engineering specifications.Must have good communication skills and knowledge of basic computer systems and software programs.Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and work safely with systems operating at 480 volts.Position may require the ability to pass/maintain a security clearance. Job Description : EG&G is looking for an experienced Plumber/Pipefitter to perform facility maintenance at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility located in Harpers Ferry, WV.Essential responsibilities include performing facility maintenance and installation activities that involve installing, servicing and repairing environmental-control systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, soldering, braising, and structural layout; Mounting compressor and condenser units on platform or floor using hand tools and following blueprints or engineering specifications; Fabricating, assembling and installing duct work and chassis parts using portable metal working tools; Performing troubleshooting repair/replacement of motors and motor controls; Performing troubleshooting/problem identification and resolution of a routine nature; and Responding to various types of emergencies and providing assistance as appropriate based on skills, knowledge and ability.Duties also include performing other site support tasks incidental to facility maintenance assignments.: : EOE M/F/D/V
