Power Generation Technician

Candidates will posses a minimum of (4) years of hands on experience with generators or diesel engines or is a graduate of an accredited diesel school. Military experience in these fields is desirable but not required. The Power Generator Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on a wide variety of diesel powered generators ranging in size from 22Kw to 2000Kw. Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position. Only those willing to work and live under these conditions should apply. This is a one year assignment. You should expect to work 12 hours days, seven days a week.Must pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Criminal background and drug screen will be conducted.Must have a current U.S. passport before deploying to Iraq.A Valid Driver's License is requiredBASE HOURLY RATE: $15.60FOREIGN SERVICE BONUS (FSB) 5% WORK AREA DIFFERENTIAL (WAD) 35%HAZARD PAY 35%ADJUSTED HOURLY RATE FOR FIRST 40 HOURS: $27.30Potential Annual Income of Approximately $90,000.00. Job Description : Perform preventive maintenance on diesel power generators to include: fuel system, lubrication system and cooling systems. Perform major repair and rebuilds on diesel power generators to include: cylinder head repair/replacement, combustion cylinder liner replacement, piston, connecting rod and bearing replacement.Diagnose and effectively repair shut down and no start conditions on diesel power generators. Process required paperwork in a timely manner. Must possess a thorough working knowledge of diesel engines. Basic generator operation fundamentals and a solid electrical background, as well as diagnostic capabilities for power generation equipment.The candidate must posses the ability to troubleshoot/diagnose using wiring schematics/diagrams and service manuals. Candidate must also be self motivated, have good organizational skills and be able to work with little or no supervision, team players are a must. Candidate must be versed in basic maintenance safety, principals, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment usage. Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.Working Conditions:Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex. Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters. Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and stoop, and have correctable vision. Supervised by the Site Manager or senior Human Resources personnel.
