Principal Applications Engineer

.This individual is responsible for the development, management and execution of complex test plans, including analysis and interpretation of quantifiable test results and metrics, as well as managing lab readiness and uptime. This individual is responsible for escalating potential business risks and for presenting management with metrics to certify that SI&T products meet or exceed acceptable production tolerances. This position is a technical track equivalent of a first level manager without administrative management duties (direct reports) and requiring hands-on participation throughout the performance test lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS degree in Information Systems, Web Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or other related degree

§ Master's degree preferred



§ 10+ years direct experience developing test plans and test cases, performing system/software failure analysis and documenting results

§ Experience in project planning, project management and critical path scheduling

§ Knowledge and experience in a variety of operating systems (LINUX, UNIX, WINDOWS XP/2000 and SUN Solaris)

§ Knowledge and experience in a variety of relational DBMS and LDAP data structures

§ Expertise in a variety of test tools and scripting languages

§ Excellent understanding of Internet protocol suites

§ Proven ability to analyze and trend performance and reliability of enterprise applications in production-like configuration

§ Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.

§ 3+ years of experience leading performance analysis and tuning of applications in a large-scale systems (applications & network) environment, preferably for an ISP

§ Solid understanding of all phases of SDLC is required
