Principal Highway Engineer

BS in Civil Engineering; a valid PE registration; and a minimum of 10 years experience working on highway & traffic projects. Must have a working knowledge of Inroads, HCS and Synchro/SimTraffic. Also requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be willing to travel as necessary. Job Description : The URS King of Prussia office is looking for a Highway Engineer to become an integral part of our growing Transportation Engineering Group. Responsibilities include supporting existing projects in the region while developing a transportation group in the Wilmington Delaware office. Project involvement would occur throughout the region but would mostly be concentrated in Delaware, southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. Clients would include state, municipal and private clients.As the Delaware Transportation Manager, responsibilities will include a broad range of managing and completing highway and transportation engineering studies and designs. Position includes alternatives analysis including Point of Access (POA) studies, preliminary and final highway design, drainage design, traffic control design, and signing and pavement marking design. Traffic engineering responsibilities include Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) and reviews, traffic signal designs, highway capacity analysis, managing traffic data collection, developing traffic signal networks and interconnection plans and obtaining Highway Occupancy Permits.
