SUMMARY Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans, detail drawings, customer submittal drawings, and other design documents from rough or detailed sketches or notes, by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. Draws finished designs from sketches.Makes final drawing, providing dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.Makes any adjustments or changes to drawings as necessary. Ability to design in 3D parametric modeling, Pro-E preferred. Prepares Bills of Material and assists in the determination of part numbers.Utilizes knowledge of various products, processes, engineering practices, mathematics and other physical sciences to complete designs.Prepares illustrations for instruction manuals or catalogs. Trains newly hired drafters in the use of CadKey, ProE, and the standards of drawing preparation.Liaison for troubleshooting manufacturing problems, and assists product engineers in resolving engineering related manufacturing issues.Performs Drawing and Design Report Checking. Gathers data, answers questions from engineers, sales or manufacturing personnel or others regarding products, components or assemblies. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; four years related experience and two years minimum experience with 3D Parametric modeling.LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.COMPUTING SKILLSAbility to effectively utilize 2D and 3D CAD software, spreadsheets and word processing software.
