We are currently seeking a Process Control and Automation Engineer for our Sheet Operations group.  This position reports to the Superintendent – Reliability Centered Maintenance and is located at our Vandergrift, PA, finishing plant.  This facility is located approximately 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. 

 

Primary responsibilities of the position are to support operations by driving continuous improvement in the automation and control of the manufacturing processes, as well as utilizing data management skills to problem solve complex manufacturing processes.  To accomplish these responsibilities, the successful candidate will interact with operations and maintenance personnel while working with the shop floor equipment and performing data analysis.  This position offers the opportunity to act independently and provide direction to others in non-technical roles.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering  

Minimum 5 years experience in a metals manufacturing environment

Strong analytical skills to analyze process performance and recommend changes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 

PLC experience is preferred.  Experience programming in C++ and Java to help support the process models and web-based data collection system is a plus.
