Process Engineering Technician (Integration)

PURPOSE: Responsible for technical support, New Product Introduction, and sustaining engineering within the production operation. Establishes operating equipment specifications, improves manufacturing techniques, and introduces new process equipment to production. Interfaces with product design and product engineering to ensure that processes and designs are compatible and support the DFT philosophy. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES / DUTIES: • Assist engineers with developing manufacturing documents such as assembly instructions, process specifications, test procedures and inspection methodology for hardware assembly integration processes. • Assist on development, maintenance and improvements of manufacturing processes of electromechanical assemblies • Assists on all other engineering activities (NPI, implementation of new processes, implementation of Corporate Best Practices, etc.). • Performs preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment. • Provide training and guidance to production personnel. • Identify and implement quality improvement initiatives. • Work on assignments which are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. • Will determine methods and procedures for customer’s new products and will provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel for building the products in low /medium production volume. • Uses ability as a skilled specialist in accordance with company policies and procedures to complete complex tasks in creative and effective ways. • Requires production experience with vocational instruction in electro mechanical assembly, intermediate arithmetic skills, the ability to use specialized equipment, read difficult instructions, maintain written records, work from established drawings, and related activities in contract manufacturing.  REQURIED QUALIFICATIONS: • Associates Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or 4 to 5 years of relevant experience working with precision mechanical assemblies required. • Experience with manufacturing of electromechanical products in high-volume low-mix environment. • Verbal and written communication, organization, problem solving and interpersonal skills are necessary. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (ie. spreadsheet, word-processing and database) application software required.
