We currently have the following opening in our St. Paul location: PRIMARY FUNCTION The primary function of this position is to enhance existing and support development of new innovative processes for implantable bioprostheses. This position will also directly contribute to the resolution of technical issues for existing products and processes. This position may be responsible for defining and coordinating project activities as well as carrying out laboratory experiments, process development activities and product/process validations. This position is a hands-on technical engineering activity specific to tissue products.NORMAL QUALIFICATIONS; EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Education: - Bachelor of Science in biomedical, chemical or tissue engineering or chemistry or biology. - Graduate degree in a technical discipline a plus.Experience: - 3 to 5 years experience working with tissue or biological materials. Implantable medical device manufacturing experience in cardiovascular implantables preferred, heart valve development experience a plus. - Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to tissue. - Familiar with standard office software products. - Working knowledge of statistical techniques. - Experience working with remote manufacturing facilities a plus. - Familiarity with Spanish, Portuguese or French language a plus. TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides technical leadership and support toward the development of new and existing tissue processes 2. Directly contributes to resolving technical issues and technical design work related to existing tissue processes and designs 3. Conducts feasibility studies to verify product design capability and functionality. 4. Writes protocols, reports, validations, specifications and manufacturing procedures 5. Follow procedures related to GLP’s, GMP’s, ISO and SJM Quality System 6. Interfaces with remote manufacturing facilities 7.
