Product Development Manager

Our Client is a division of a Fortune 500 Company.

This position will be located at our Exton, PA manufacturing facility, supporting the manufacturing which is a high growth portion of our business. The role will be responsible for the re-design and development of existing and new products utilizing DFSS methodology. The selected individual will have responsibility for ensuring the products meet the needs and cost constraints for local and international markets. They will participate on innovation teams with internal and external customers in order to develop solutions to meet customer needs.
The role will also focus on developing a more detailed and rigorous test process for our products and look at how to simplify the needs of the internal downstream customers. The individual will also have responsibility for determining how we maintain a high level of quality while also managing to reduce costs.

This position will be responsible for:
• Staging projects, communicating status and achieving goals for performance, cost and scheduling.
• Designing new products to meet market-focused design guide specifications.
• Developing new products to high levels of performance and reliability.
• Specification and design of test programs to prove performance and reliability.
• Optimize the cost of new products.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams consisting of engineering, manufacturing, marketing and supply chain personnel to achieve optimized product design.
• Create accurate documentation that is responsive to the specific needs of Manufacturing, Marketing and Supply Chain users.
• Track cost savings targeted and achieved, and features added or improved.
• Improve test capabilities (range, throughput, quality and reporting).
• Innovate and contribute to improvements in dryer operating theory and technology.
• Supervise a staff of 4-8 Engineers, Designers and Technicians.

• 7-10 years work experience in a heavily mechanical environment with responsibility for designing and developing new products or equipment with a focus on fluid flow and heat transfer.
• 2+ years of direct supervisory experience
• BSME degree is required
• A strong background in six sigma is desired with some DFSS experience preferred.
• A demonstrated ability to positively and successfully team with other departments to accomplish multiple objectives.
