DESCRIPTION
1. Product redesign, enhancements and value engineering based on changing needs of the market and requirements of the manufacturing process. Use of design for manufacturing techniques to simplify designs.

2. Assist in being a change agent to improve and develop a formalized and systematic engineering process/system.

3. Continually improve the Product Engineering process.

4. Manage and lead the detailing/order engineering process, design enhancement and modification process, fire code applications engineering and all design/hardware data.

5. Establish and implement product engineering vision and strategies. Identify and develop organizational plan to achieve strategies and objectives.

6. Modify and enhance product design as required by marketing and manufacturing and value. Manage the engineering change process.

7. Manage the developing and implementation and maintenance of CAE, PD. and other engineering support systems.

8. Performs other related duties as required.

Education Type:Mechanical Engineering

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. (MS Degree preferred)

2. Minimum 2 years design experience.

3. Team skills, able to work with minimal supervision, strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

4. Computer skills (CAD, Microsoft, PC general knowledge).

5. Pro Engineering CAD CAD System, FMEA Techniques, Product Data Management Systems, Finite Element Analysis.

6. Ability to analyze design to balance design functionality/tolerances with manufacturing process capabilities.

7. Hollow metal (frame and door) experience or experience with sheet metal is a plus.

8. Architectural hardware preferred.

9. Good written and verbal communication skills.
