Job Title: Product Engineer in Chicago

 

Our very important client near Chicago, Illinois is looking for a Product Engineer who is a positive, energetic individual who is self-motivated, has strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, and is highly experienced in mechanical design.

 

The Product Engineer will be working within the Concept and Development process to deliver the best possible product for a targeted price point. This entails coordinating efforts between Hong Kong Engineers, Sculptors, Model Makers, Design Engineers, and all relative personnel required to develop these specific models with their desired functions.

 

In addition to the above, the position requires strong communications skills that will entail assisting the Marketing Department to work with clients on all technical issues. Further, the Product Engineer is accountable for identifying and engineering new features and functions and modifying these functions so that they can be used in promotional products.

 

Some requirements for this position would be the following:

 

·  Strong project management skills.

·  Ability to successfully handle multiple projects at a time.

·  Strong communication skills.

·  A strong understanding of mechanical design and how that can be related to mass production.

·  Strong knowledge of plastic processing methods including: tooling, injection molding, blow molding, and rotocast molding, and all related plastics are required. 

·  A mechanical aptitude to review mechanical mechanisms and understand how they work and relate this understanding to specific toy functions is required.

·  Simple knowledge of electronics is also a benefit.

·  Consumer products experience a huge plus

·  Knowledge of decoration processes (this includes painting, coatings, printing, silk screening, transfers, etc.) would be beneficial.

·  B.S. in Mechanical Engineering is required.

·  5 years experience in Design and Development of consumer and/or toy products
