Production Engineer (Auto-CAD Drafting)

We are seeking an experienced Production/CAD/Engineer to convert basic customer criteria into functional audio/video system designs. 

 

This development process includes researching componentry, rendering block diagrams to verify functionality, and engineering the designs into installation ready documentation. 

 

The right candidate will readily obtain good product knowledge and will be able to specify products for system design solutions and work as a lead engineer with the technicians to trouble shoot and “value/solution” engineer projects.

 

Major Responsibilities:

· Create documentation to support installation of sound and video systems including hardware layout, working blueprints, wiring diagrams, installation detail sheets, custom fabrication drawings and equipment lists.

· Translate system designs into CAD documentation with no supervision.

· Interact with architect, GC or client, as necessary to obtain critical design information necessary to complete project within intended time frame.

· Maintain AutoCad and Quality Assurance policies consistent with department standards and goals 

· Be readily available to provide accurate technical assistance to ensure proper installation of DMX designed systems.

· Work with Engineering Manager to evaluate daily project load as needed, and work with Project Management Team and Account Executives/Sales Team to determine priorities

 

Education, Experience, and Abilities for Success:

· Associate of Applied Science degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting) from technical or vocational institute or 2 years of equivalent experience.

· AutoCad 2007 or latest version and architectual drafting experience.

· Experience in commercial audio/video design or equivalent.

· Knowledge of audio and video wiring diagrams.

· Ability to read technical specifications, wiring diagrams and architectural blueprints.

· Flexible, proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
