Project Controls Engineer III (Location: Huntsville, AL/Full Time)


Responsibilities:
Performs analysis, and control activities, as directed. Performs schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities, as directed. Reports to and receives technical and operational supervision from designated supervisory personnel. Must be capable of operating with minimal day-to-day direction. Maintains relationships with client and project personnel, particularly with individual discipline group leaders and engineers in the home office and at Redstone Arsenal.

Develops cost/schedule data for contract scope of work. Performs cost data analysis. Identifies work scope, schedules, and estimates and the execution and completion of all deliverables within budget and schedule. Ensures that a performance baseline is maintained in configuration control through the use of approved change control procedures. Identifies cost trends and schedule impacts for management attention, and may recommend corrective action. Ensures that adequate funding is available for scope execution; and monitors estimates at completion.


Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or business plus a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Project Controls, Project Management, baseline development and management or budget formulation.
Note: 8 years of relevant experience (depending on type of degree) will be reviewed and considered for equivalence of these requirements.

Requires experience and understanding Controls theory (Earned Value) techniques and practices associated with baseline development and management and funds management. Requires knowledge of baseline configuration management, schedule development, estimates at completion and funds management. Requires knowledge and use of applicable software including: Cost Processors and Scheduling Software (Primavera or MS Project). Must be proficient in Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Must possess good organizational skills; strong verbal and written communications skills; and the ability to interface effectively with management.
