· Preparing proposals for electrical power equipment used in substations?
· Technical evaluation of electrical equipment for substations
· Project coordination of substation equipment
· Application of protection relays in substationPreparing technical write up, data sheets, and collect related equipment drawings for the proposal, spares list, test, commissioning, maintenance, training write up for proposal, clarifications and comments for the proposalDesign of single line diagrams, protection & control schemes, cable interconnections and calculation of protection relay settings for SVC projects, substation layoutSupervision of installation of substation electrical equipmentExperience in commissioning of electrical equipmentKnowledge of power electronic equipmentStatic var compensation application
Requirements & Job Description:BS degree in Engineering (preferably with a Power Systems concentration) and 5+ years experience preferred. (Master’s degree preferred)Responsible for meeting all engineering objectives on a project.Provide a single point contact on all engineering activities.Resolve all engineering issues from various engineering disciplines, including civil, structural, protection, design, etc.Coordinate, supervise and integrate all internal project engineering activities. Support project manager on issues requiring engineering recommendation.Coordination with project manager for project scheduling and progress. Site installation and commissioning support.Responsible for meeting all engineering objectives related to a project. Responsible for coordination of all engineering issues from the various disciplines (thyristor valve, valve cooling, SVC controls, SVC yard. Provide a single point contact on all engineering matters to the project manager/customer. Liaison with outside engineering resources if required. Provide overall coordination and supervision of engineering activities for SVC project.Design of single line diagrams, protection & control schemes, cable interconnections and calculation of protection relay settings for SVC projects.Perform design and engineering tasks as a design engineer for the project.Perform substation design engineering as required.Proficient with Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.Review of customer’s specification. Preparation of equipment list for the project, equipment specifications for all electrical equipment in the substation, Site installation, test and commissioning specification for getting the quotes.Evaluation of all equipment and installation quotes, preparation of cost sheet.Coordination all engineering input to prepare proposal for SVC project. Prepare technical write up, data sheets, and collect related equipment drawings for the proposal, spares list, test, commissioning, maintenance, training write up for proposal, clarifications and comments for the proposal.
