SEPTA’s Engineering Maintenance & Construction Division (EM&C) is seeking  a recent (four year) college grad (or equivalent) with ability and interest in the area of Contract Management and Administration. This individual will perform duties within an entry-level scope pursuant to the administration of third- party services and blanket material contracts. These contracts are diverse and run the gamut from cleaning services to heavy  equipment leases to technical support for train control software systems.

 

Scheduling and monitoring contractor performance, approving and tracking financial expenditures, interfacing between  EM&C  and the Purchasing Department, tracking procurement activity status, entering requisitions on a computer system and assisting in the preparation of budgets, work scopes and legal agreements for areas of contract responsibility are part of the responsibilities of this very  diverse job

 

He/she will have demonstrated competencies in areas of computer proficiency in MS Software applications including Excel, Access and Word. Ability to organize and prepare reports and maintain written and computer based records will be required.  Test will be required to reveal intermediate abilitiy in excel.

 

Familiarity with Transit/Railroad Operations and/or Construction/Building Trades preferred.

 

Ability to interact with wide range of individuals at various job levels is a requirement as is polished written skills.
