QUALITY AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ENGINEER

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Reporting to the Production Unit Manager, with strong direction from the Director of Quality and Metallurgy, responsibilities for this position will include:

• Operational responsibility and maintenance of the Quality Management System.

• Development, implementation and maintenance of quality activities, systems and improvement initiatives to ensure continued conformance to Sandvik’s quality policy and objectives, and uninterrupted certification to the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

• Technical leadership for manufacturing and business improvement initiatives.

• Promote and facilitate Process, Quality, Safety and Environmental Improvements.

• Ensure that products and services are in conformance with customer requirements.



YOUR PROFILE

The qualified candidate will possess 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing, quality or continuous improvement environment. Bachelors degree in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering preferred, Mechanical Engineering or related fields will also be considered. Prior Experience in a lean manufacturing environment or six-sigma is a plus. Experience with Lotus Notes database is a plus and proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must. The incumbent will also possess good verbal & interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to take and drive initiatives.
