Quality Supervisor

Nissan Forklift Corporation, a supplier of electric and engine powered forklifts, electric pallet trucks, tow tractors, walkie stackers, and manual pallet trucks, has an opening for a Supplier Quality Engineering Supervisor located at the Corporate Headquarters in Marengo, Illinois. 

 

Responsibilities

·  Oversee, evaluate and continuously improve the personnel and processes designed to improve supplier product and process quality in order to maximize their effectiveness.  This includes but is not limited to:

¡ Supplier Performance Measuring and Reporting.

¡ Supplier Corrective Actions.

¡ Approved Supplier list including new-supplier evaluations and improvement plans.

¡ Supplier development activities (Auditing, Training, Improvement plans, etc)

¡ PPAP

¡ New part reviews/warrant level assignments.

·  Responsible to devise and implement strategies and action plans to improve key supplier measures, including:

¡ Supplied part quality (PPM)

¡ On-time Delivery

¡ Cost of Quality

¡ Warranty Rate

¡ PPAP Approval Rate

¡ Corrective Action timeliness

·  Demonstrates leadership by providing technical expertise and facilitating support of cross functional initiatives involving Supplier Management, Production Procurement, Design, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering.

·  Responsible for managing the technical and quality relationship with suppliers resulting in a reliable material supply, continuous performance improvement, and long-term partnerships.

·  Train suppliers and NFC personnel on supplier quality topics such as: 8D methodology, PDCA continuous improvement program, PPAP requirements, QMS auditing, FMEA, Control Plans and other topics as required. 

 Qualifications·  Seeking a highly motivated individual who desires career growth, can work independently and has excellent project management and follow-up skills.·  BS/BA degree in a technical discipline with at least 5 years of Supplier Quality or Quality Management experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.  ·  Demonstrated experience and success in leading cross-functional teams to drive measurable improvements to processes.·  Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Minitab statistical software desired.  ·  Comprehensive working knowledge of:o Six Sigma tools and methodologies o ISO9001 & Quality Systems auditing (Auditor certification preferred)o Root Cause Analysis and Mistake Proofingo Lean Manufacturing/Kaizeno FMEA & other preventive action tools.o SPC (Minitab proficiency desired)o Process Mapping. ·  Must be willing to travel up to 50%.  ·  Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively train people at all levels of a company. ·  Position requires demonstrated effectiveness in employee development and team leadership.  ·  Experience in evaluating, monitoring and controlling international suppliers, particularly Chinese and Indian, is desired.
