Hantel Technologiesis a contract design and manufacturing facility located in Hayward. Our specialty is working with early stage medical device companies and executives, supporting their design, development, manufacturing and commercialization of cutting edge Bio-Tech Products.


R&D TECHNICIAN



Major Duties and Responsibilities: Support new product development by implementing all aspects of prototype construction, testing, documentation, problem correction, and related tooling.Work with engineers, machinists, and designers to create working prototypes, specifications, and drawings for new products or product revisions which are consistent with a zero defect level as well as low product cost.Generate prototype devices based on direction from engineers as well as self directed prototypes to meet defined needs. Train and educate other technicians in build and test processesUpdate supervisor of work status or problems with recommendations for improvement or correction.Maintain an accurate lab notebook and record of assignments and results including documentation concerning materials, parts used, concepts, designs, schematics, layouts, test set-ups, etc..Assist with the manufacturing phase-in of new products or product changes.Train assemblers when transferring products.In conjunction with manufacturing staff, identify tooling, machines, or fixtures which optimize manufacturing processesDevelop, modify and conduct laboratory testing protocols and document results.  Lead other technicians in the completion of testsComplete specialized studies or experiments culminating in written reports as neededMaintain a clean, safe, and well organized work area.

Education and Experience: 
High School graduate equivalent required.AA in a technical field preferred.4-6 years of experience in medical device industry required.Must have experience with electronic fabrication as well as experience with schematics capture and layout software.Senior level must be able to work on problems requiring the exercise of autonomy, judgment and expertise.Candidates will be required to demonstrate proficiency in basic skills.
