R&D Test and Characterization Test Technician



Job Summary:

The R&D Characterization and Test Technician is responsible for the set-up, testing, and characterization of the electrical, optical and thermal performance of LED devices using custom built test stations.

 





Duties/Responsibilities:

· Work under the direction of Device Engineers, to carry out testing and characterization of a variety of LED devices at the package level.

· Provide a high-quality characterization service to engineering personnel, which includes the generation of standard or custom test reports.

· Support other device engineering efforts as assigned.





Minimum Qualification Required: (when qualifications include education or equivalent, define equivalent)

· A.S. or B.S. in an engineering or scientific discipline.

· Experience with optoelectronic test equipment and component fixturing.

· Good computer skills such as MS Word, MS Excel, and a demonstrated ability to collect and report on experimental data.

· Ability to judge validity of test outcomes and to function with minimal supervision,

· Self motivated, organized, able to solve equipment/fixturing problems within a team environment and able to handle short lead time requests and priority changes.

 





Additional Desired Qualification/Experience:

· Experience with LED device testing such as LIV, far field, thermal resistance, uniformity, and other aspects of test engineering.

· 1-3 years Industrial experience with device testing in fast paced R&D environment.

· Quick learner with good general laboratory skills, soldering skills and electronic assembly skills.

· Knowledge of compound semiconductor processing / characterization is a plus.
